Iowa Prayer Network had its inception in "Building Networks of Prayer" — a conference held November 17-18, 2000, in Des Moines, Iowa, and sponsored by United Methodists Organized for Renewal and Evangelism, Iowa United Methodist Men, and Iowa Conference Board of Discipleship.
